If you want to know more about me, details are online. I am an academic at UCL, and I have more than twenty years experience with units managed by UCL Culture. I do not work in that unit, however.
Am I writing in a personal capacity? That’s tricky. I am a person, and I have my own views. I also am a professor at UCL and a member of the university’s Academic Board. I have a role in the academic mission. I also am a manager of an academic department. I also am a friend and colleague. I also am a professional with decades of experience in the field of public engagement and the history of museums. (UCL Culture’s predecessor even gave me an award in 2013 for promoting a culture of public engagement, so I guess I have “peer recognition”.) The best way to answer this question is to say that when I speak as a representative of my institution or department, I will make that clear. If you aren’t sure which voice I’m using, please ask.
